Art-Glass Auction
This year’s fundraiser for Northland Cares will also include an auction of unique art-glass pieces made especially for this event.
Cindi Shaffer of Astral Glass Studio organized the collaborative benefit project. She works in kiln-formed cast art glass, and invited ten local artists who work in media other than glass to design and make cast pieces with her guidance. Contributing artists include Jody Skjei, Deanne McKeown, Lesley Aine McKeown, Cindi Shaffer, Bud Sadler, Paul Landis, Abby Brill, John Duncan, Mary Kaye O’Neill and Arlis Newcomb.
Each piece will have an either stone or metal base, also donated by local artists, and will be sold in an online auction after display at the fundraiser concert. Prices will start at $150, and participants will be encouraged to bid high for the good of this great nonprofit and the excellent services it provides our community.
